Another one of my recent sessions is featured on the Florida Brides Blog.  Yay!

It’s not everyday that I get the opportunity to shoot a soon to be bride and then her mother within the same week.  Well, that’s what happened when I shot Susan.  She is one of my spring bride’s mother and also turned 50 in November, which was the reason for her session.  Yes, let me repeat. . . . 50.  She looks absolutely amazing and I can only hope to be half this good looking when I turn 50 someday!  I had a great time working with her over at Club Continental and it was fun to help her celebrate such a special birthday with cool pictures.

Last weekend, I had the privilege of spending a couple of days with Zach and Jody Gray.  They are a husband and wife photography team from Nashville and I was super excited to host their Gray Photography Workshop in Jacksonville Beach.  After a few months of planning, we were able to make it happen and it came together perfectly.  Thanks to Gary Denman for allowing us to use his new store, The Photo Shop in Jax Beach for the workshop.  We had a really great group of photographers who traveled from as far as Minnesota, North Carolina, South Florida and some locals.  It was awesome to meet so many talented photographers and it was very cool that I hadn’t met a single one of them before the actual workshop.  The power of the internet is pretty amazing.

The two days were spent learning and practicing all kinds of valuable information that Zach and Jody taught us from shooting, to post processing to lighting.  It was definitely one of those “Ah-ha” moments for me and I’m sure I can speak for the others on that also.  One of the things I love so much about this business is the wonderful friends I have made along the way.  I had an awesome time and learned a ton!

We were also really lucky to have 2 awesome models, Lauren Rossi and Autumn Anderson.  Thanks ladies, you both did an awesome job modeling and braving the cold, wet, windy weather for the sake of education and art.    ha ha     )

Thank you Zach and Jody for coming to Jacksonville.  I know everyone had a great time and I really enjoyed getting to know the two of you.

These next 3 are definitely my favorites.  I just goes to show what a minor, minor change in settings can do to make a dramatic change to an image.

I’ve been a little missing in action lately because things have been pretty busy around the Goodson household.  A few weeks ago, my family was on the other side of the camera.  A good friend of mine, Michelle Dearing shot our family pictures.  Being a photographer means that I’m usually behind the camera and pretty seldom in front of it so it was fun for a change to see what Michelle could do with us.  Here are a few of my favorites.  Thanks Michelle!

It’s been a super busy week and the weekend looks like it’s going to continue down the same path.  I finished Chris and Tia’s session that we did in St Augustine last weekend and here it is.  We had a great time getting to know each other while exploring in St Augustine.  I’ll be shooting their January wedding and I’m so excited.  They were a pleasure to shoot and as you can see, they both have the most gorgeous blue eyes!  They are the sweetest couple you’d ever want to meet and Chris definitely kept me laughing.  I’m glad they cleared up the facebook confusion I had about Tia’s status updates that would always catch my eye.  :o)  (This is an inside joke and Chris and Tia will know exactly what I’m talking about.  ha ha)
