Amelia Island Wedding Photographer | Laura & Lawson are married!

Last month, I spent the day in Amelia Island photographing Laura and Lawson’s beautiful wedding.  The ceremony and reception took place at Walkers Landing in Amelia Island Plantation.  It had to be one of the hottest days of the year but it didn’t stop everyone from having a great time and celebrating the marriage of such a great couple.

Thank you Laura and Lawson for having me be a part of your special day.  I had a great time!

This is a long post but I loved so many of their images so I had to share them.

I absolutely love her dress, shoes and jewelry!Laura did a great job incorporating the yellow everywhere!  Such a great summer color.

I love it when brides really take the time to put their personality into the wedding and reception details, truly making their day unique.
They had a beautiful interfaith ceremony. The sunglasses were a really cute touch.  Everyone loved them!Laura even brought along a mixture of summer pillow so the outside guests could sit in comfort and style.  Love it!
This band was AMAZING!  These guys traveled all the way from Montgomery, Alabama!  This reception was a blast!Laura and her dad for the father-daughter dance.
Lawson and his mom for the mother-son dance. I love to steal the couple for a few minutes during a reception.  It gives them a chance to take a breather and I’m able to get some neat out door shots.  I couldn’t pass up the colored canoes here. One of my favorites from the entire evening!Time to Par-Tay!!!!This was such a fun crowd! The lead singer gathered up all the guys, had them lay on the ground and hop on their backs.  Since Laura and Lawson are from Georgia, it was time to “stomp the gators”!  This was definitely a first for me.    :oDTambourine time!

special delivery. . . . . .

About this time last year, I made a visit to see some old friends from high school.  It’s unfortunate that it takes times of sadness to bring people back into your life.  This was one of those times.

After my visit with Laura and Brian, I knew that they would someday become a part of my “to do” list.  I wasn’t able to reveal my plan to them at the time but I knew if I sat back and waited, the time would come where I could give them something really special.

Fast forward about a year later. . . .

I’m driving down the same road to see my old friends but this time, it was for a time of joy.     😀

Meet baby Connor.

I am in no way, shape or form a “baby photographer” but I gave it my all and under these really special circumstances, I was “baby photographer” for the day.  Not your typical “peaceful baby” poses but I still think they’re cute and some of my favorites.    Love this cute face!!!

Thank you Laura and Brian for allowing me to come back and spend some time with you and your precious little boy.  I promise not to let so long go by before I visit again.

Fernandina Beach Engagement Session | Nicole & Billy

Last week, I caught up with Nicole and Billy for their engagement session.  It was great to finally meet them in person!  They are such a cool couple.  Since they’re both marine archaeologists, they thought Fort Clinch in Fernandina Beach, Florida would be a nice place to shoot.  There is so much history at this place and we really appreciated the “after hours” tour and access to the grounds from Lee (the park ranger on duty).     😀

I’m really excited about their upcoming beach wedding in September!
