Albums

I love it when my couples decide to add an album to their wedding collection.  After all, it’s going to be the wedding album that’s looked at for generations to come and passed down as a family heirloom.  It’s a very important part of family history.

Because my clients have shown a lot of interest in albums lately, I figured I’d dedicate a blog post to showing just a few of the options to choose from.  I work closely with each of my couples to help them choose the perfect images and cover options so that their album is completely unique.

This blog post contains 4 different albums.  Three of them are the traditional flush mount album.  There are also a few images of the portrait book which has the same beautiful print quality but the album has a fabric cover and a thinner, white substrate between the pages.  These are great for parent books.

Many of my clients live out of town so this is the next best thing to seeing and holding the albums in person.  Enjoy!

All three of these albums are 10×10 with varying page numbers.  Album sizes range from  4×6 to 12×17 and are available in square or rectangle.

Flush mount albums lay completely flat when open.  Albums can be designed to each clients specifications.  Cover cameo photos and embossing is available.  Cover embossing and spine embossing is offered in 4 different fonts.  I prefer a simple layout with large images to help tell the story of the day.  Flush mount albums have a very thin “gutter”.  The gutter is a tiny cut along the crease at the center of the book.  This keeps the  paper from being folded and it helps to minimize any discoloration of the photographic paper over time.  Flush mount albums have a thick, black substrate giving the pages a very stiff, substantial feel when turning the pages.  This next image shows the portrait book.  It is covered in your choice of linen covers.  The book on top is the portrait book and the book on the bottom is in identical design and page number to the flush mount book.  You can see the difference in thickness of the two books here. The portrait book has thinner pages with a white substrate between the prints.  It is not as thick as the pages in the flush mount album but they are sturdy and do not bend.  The book also lays completely flat when open. One of my favorite parts is choosing the cover material.  I offer a wide variety of leathers, ranging from top grain leather, premium leather, lamb or calf skin.  There are also several great faux leather choices as well.

Album | Guest Book

From time to time, I like to share some of the products that I offer to my couples.  The latest is a recent guest book for Jennifer & Wade’s upcoming wedding.  These lay flat press printed books are great for guest books and parent albums.

Album | Flush Mount

Since about half of my wedding clients book me from out of town or without actually meeting in person (Kerrie and Daniel being one of those), I like to be able to display some of the products I offer here on my blog.  The items I’m showing you today are my flush mount albums.  I have two different examples here but there are many different leather and cover options so each couple can design their perfect album.

All of my wedding collections include a disk with high resolution images which is a great thing to have.  However, I cannot stress enough how important I think it is for each couple to invest in an actual wedding album.  It’s something that can be passed down from generation to generation and will be a keepsake that will be cherished for many years.  A nice album with your favorite images will never go out of style.

The first one I’d like to share is Kerrie and Daniel’s album which is a 10×10 58 page black leather album.

**On a side note, Kerrie is the owner of The White Magnolia which is one of the best places around to find an amazing wedding dress!   She’s not only a client but has turned out to be a good friend and will help any bride find the perfect dress for her big day.  If you don’t have a dress yet, go see her! :D

undefinedundefinedundefinedI like to keep my layouts clean and simple.undefinedundefinedThe next album is a 12×12 36 page album.  This one has a brown and blue damask album cover which is a really nice option for couples to add to their album.  This cover just so happened to match Mary Lynn & Dave’s wedding colors so it was the perfect addition.  undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedThese books are completely lay flat as you’ll see in the image below.
undefinedOne of my favorite things about these books is the virtually nonexistent gutter in the center.  undefined

Album | Guest Book

Since so  many of my clients are out of town and we don’t actually meet in person until after they’ve booked, I thought it would be a good idea to have images of the albums and books I offer.  I’ll be updating this category often so make sure to check back from time to time for new images.

This next book I’m sharing is my guest book.  These are a great way to show off the pictures from your engagement session but it allows your wedding guests to sign in and  leave nice messages that you’ll be able to cherish for many years.

You can opt to do a photo cover or something plain with your favorite color.  This particular book has a photo cover and a linen spine and back cover.

Album | Couture Book

I recently decided to add a new kind of wedding album to my product collection.  After several of my clients expressed interest in wanting a really artsy, high end wedding album instead of a more traditional book, it made me look into other options.

I’m really happy with one in particular that I’ve decided to offer.  Meet Couture Book.  Couture Books are made by hand and it’s one of those books you have to see and feel in person to appreciate the quality.  They have a ton of different cover and page options so every couple is sure to find a book style that suits their style and personality.

undefinedundefinedI love the clean, simple design for these.  This particular book is 100 pages with 1 image per page.  However, the books can accommodate up to 300 pages.

undefinedThis book style comes with a photo cover and matching slip case.  We opted to go with a black linen spine and back cover. undefined
