Last weekend I was one of several vendors who took part in a fundraiser event for the Council on Aging at River House which is the newest, hottest venue in St Augustine. River House is a very cool location located on the Matanzas River and just blocks from Historic St Augustine. It is a beautiful location inside and out and perfect for weddings.
When Constance at River House asked me to be the official photographer for the event, I immediately agreed to take part. I knew it would be a wonderful opportunity to meet some other really great wedding professionals and it was also for a good cause.
In fact, I have the honor of photographing the first wedding to ever take place at River House later this month. Yay! So this was a great time for me to get familiar with the premises and to get some shots of our models for the day, Hardus and Candace.

No wedding would be complete without a wedding planner. Karen Erwin of St Augustine Weddings and Events was responsible for the bride and groom that I was to be photographing for the day. It was a joy to finally be able to meet her in person after a number of emails and phone calls. I can not stress enough how important it is to hire a wedding planner for your wedding day. I’ll blog more on this subject in the near future but for now, take my word for it and give Karen a call.
Unforgettable Events came over from Gainesville and did an amazing job on the flowers and decor! For any of you brides who are looking for that “Wow Factor” when it comes to decor and flowers, contact them here. Dan Hatchcock and his team are awesome!
Kevin Moore with Moore Fine Foods was responsible for the tasty cuisine. Not only was the food presentation beautiful and creative, it was super yummy.
A wedding is never complete without a wedding cake. Therese Fishburne from Simply Delicious brought a nice selection of cakes for everyone to sample.
Faythe Mesic is a local makeup artist in Jacksonville who was kind enough to come out and do hair and makeup for our fabulous models, Candace and Hardus. If you’re a bride and looking for someone who is extremely experienced and creative to do your makeup and hair on your special day, contact Faythe. She is truly a lovely person and works with a large number of brides every year to make them look beautiful on their special day.
Aaron Tucker of Take One Productions came out for the videography.
Country Carriages had their very cool Cinderalla carriage and horses on display.

Here is a glimpse of some of the amazing work from Unforgettable Events. I was in love with the beautiful creations that Dan Hathcock and his fabulous team were able to put together for everyone to enjoy.

This is the area where the tables are set for dining. It is extremely spacious and will seat over 200 people.

The next few images are in the Library. I had a huge smile on my face when I saw the potential this room has. It has amazing natural light which made for some really great shots.
Since River House is on the banks of the Matanzas River, it also makes for a great photo spot. You can even see the St Augustine Light House far off in the distance.

I never ran out of cool spots to shoot during my time at River House. The next few are on the back covered area. Again, it was great light!
This area out back is a nice spot to get some fresh air and for couples to have a private moment. 
St Augustine Weddings and Events brought this old car which is a great idea for brides and grooms who want to make their departure in style.
Back to the library for some dancing shots. Did I already say that I love this room for photos?! This really was such a wonderful photo spot.
I can’t decide if I like the color or black & white better in the next one. It is my favorite from the entire day!
