Allie & Scott are one of the sweetest couples I know.  These high school sweet hearts are meant for one another and I am so happy that I was able to document their amazing wedding.  Allie and her mother worked hard to create a beautiful event with so many great details.  It always warms my heart to see a bride so close with her mother on her special day.  I loved seeing River House decked out in hot pink, green & damask.  They both come from the wonderful families and it was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with them as they start their new lives together.  I know they’re enjoying their honeymoon in Maui and I wish them a safe trip back home.

I loved being a part of this wedding!  Back in November, I had the privilege of shooting Lara & Steve’s wedding.  Lara & Steve are the owners of Declaration Boutique and Events so from the moment we started talking about their wedding, I knew there would plenty of originality, beautiful details and a touch of romance.  Any time couples put as much thought and work into making their event truly unique and personal like Lara & Steve did, it’s always fun to shoot and this wedding was no exception.  TPC Sawgrass is absolutely one of my most venues and the team of incredible vendors they chose to help create their perfect day are some of the best in town.

I could not have asked for a better couple to kick off the 2012 wedding season with than Colleen & Will.  It was a beautiful day with perfect weather and so much fun.  I knew from the minute I met them at their engagement session that it would be a really great wedding and it truly was in every way imaginable. They are so comfortable with each other and in front of the camera, which made my part so much easier.  They chose to do a “first look” and most of their photos before the ceremony which allowed me to take advantage of some really great light and they were able to make it to the reception that much sooner.

Colleen had a great team of vendors lined up to bring her vision together and River House was the perfect setting for all of it.  There was no shortage of smiles, laughter, really great music and dancing at their reception.  I love it when couples have a band and Cloud 9 was great to work with.

I’ve been holding on to these images since December.   Colleen & Will’s fabulous River House wedding was last weekend (and there’s lots of delicious images to share from that very soon) which means I can finally share Colleen’s bridal session!

I love to shoot bridal sessions.  I really, really LOVE them!  It’s such a special time in a girl’s life and I think it’s completely appropriate to embrace every moment of being a bride.  All too often, the wedding day simply does not permit the chance to do a dedicated bridal shoot.  There’s usually a strict timeline, lots of hustle & bustle and to top it all of, wedding day jitters!  This is exactly why the bridal session is such a great idea for the bride to be.  The session is the perfect time to do a trial run for hair & makeup.  I always recommend professional hair and makeup for my brides so it’s good for them to see how they photograph, making sure it’s perfect for the big day.  Plus, it’s another excuse to put that gorgeous gown on and have some really beautiful, classy shots to capture a girl when she’s never looked or felt more beautiful.

Alex & Mike were my last couple for 2011 and I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to end the year with.  They are truly one of the sweetest couples I have worked with.  Family and friends from all over the world came to St Augustine to celebrate their special day with them.  Both being Embry-Riddle graduates, they incorporated small touches of aviation and aerospace into their reception decor.  Mike’s grooms cake from Metro Custom Cakes has got to be one of the coolest cakes I’ve seen.  He works for NASA and the space shuttle cake complete with lights was quite a hit.  From Alex’s father’s heartfelt speech to the fun time everyone had on the dance floor, everyone really enjoyed themselves and the day was perfect.

Thank you both for having me document your wedding day.  I am honored and touched to have been a part of it.
