Earlier this week I celebrated another birthday. Ever since Melissa & Brandon’s Casa Monica wedding last month, I knew what kind of sweet treat I’d want for my birthday. My mom, my littlest boy and I took off on a road trip to The Pastry Studio in Daytona Beach, Florida.
I gave Sherri a call last week and placed my order for cupcakes. We were greeted with such sweet hospitality and her cake studio is so stylish! I had such a great time talking weddings, cake and photography with her. It’s always nice to connect with other wedding professionals and appreciate the artistic side of what we both love and do. One of the things that really impressed me so much with Sherri’s cakes are that they are not only delicious but beautiful. She has taught herself photography over the 12 years she’s been in business and takes a lot of pride in photographing her cakes. I noticed that the first time I visited her website. It’s very modern and stylish with really good photographs, all of which she does herself, which to me is a huge selling point for out of town brides who cannot make it in for a tasting. She has such a passion for what she does and it shows in her work.
Here’s a little glimpse into my visit.
Enjoy!

Sherri even had cookies waiting for my little boy. How sweet!
I was treated to the typical tasting experience that all of her brides get when they come in. These were amazing! I think I’ve added a few new favorite flavors to my list.
She even gave me a tour of her kitchen so I got to see where all the magic happens.

This is Sherri! She’s the mastermind behind my new sweet addiction. She’s awesome so if you need a wedding cake, you must go see her!
And yes, here’s the real reason that I drove all the way to Daytona. Red Velvet cupcakes. Seriously delicious!
Sherri! I cannot thank you enough for the delicious treats! I had the best time chatting with you and I will definitely be back.
XOXO

Thanks to the mystery lady and man who allowed me to boot them out of their beach chairs for the next shot. You can’t come all the way from Maryland for a beach wedding and not do something like this!

Thanks to the captain for letting us grab a quick shot at the steering wheel. A little cliche’ but still cute and an opportunity I couldn’t pass up since it was my first wedding reception on a boat. :o)
