Happy Birthday to me!

Earlier this week I celebrated another birthday.  Ever since Melissa & Brandon’s Casa Monica wedding  last month, I knew what kind of sweet treat I’d want for my birthday.  My mom, my littlest boy and I took off on a road trip to The Pastry Studio in Daytona Beach, Florida.

I gave Sherri a call last week and placed my order for cupcakes.  We were greeted with such sweet hospitality and her cake studio is so stylish!  I had such a great time talking weddings, cake and photography with her.  It’s always nice to connect with other wedding professionals and appreciate the artistic side of what we both love and do.  One of the things that really impressed me so much with Sherri’s cakes are that they are not only delicious but beautiful.  She has taught herself photography over the 12 years she’s been in business and takes a lot of pride in photographing her cakes.  I noticed that the first time I visited her website.  It’s very modern and stylish with really good photographs, all of which she does herself, which to me is a huge selling point for out of town brides who cannot make it in for a tasting.  She has such a passion for what she does and it shows in her work.

Here’s a little glimpse into my visit.

Enjoy!

undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedSherri even had cookies waiting for my little boy.  How sweet!undefinedundefinedI was treated to the typical tasting experience that all of her brides get when they come in.  These were amazing!  I think I’ve added a few new favorite flavors to my list.  undefinedShe even gave me a tour of her kitchen so I got to see where all the magic happens.  undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedThis is Sherri!  She’s the mastermind behind my new sweet addiction.  She’s awesome so if you need a wedding cake, you must go see her!
undefinedAnd yes, here’s the real reason that I drove all the way to Daytona.  Red Velvet cupcakes.  Seriously delicious!  undefined Sherri!  I cannot thank you enough for the delicious treats!  I had the best time chatting with you and I will definitely be back.

XOXO

St Augustine Wedding Photographer | Hope & Joe are married! Again!

Yes, Hope & Joe are married. . .  . again!  After 20 years of marriage, they decided to come to St Augustine and renew their vows.  It has been an absolute pleasure to work with such a delightful family for this really happy occasion.

Everything about it turned out beautifully, from their sentimental ceremony to their awesome reception!  There was no shortage of  style and personal details, which I love.

Here’s to another 20 happy years together!

XOXO

Palm Coast Wedding Photographer | Sarah & Josh are married!

A few weeks ago, I drove to Palm Coast to shoot a wedding for 2 people I’d never met before.  Sarah and Josh came in from Maryland, followed by family and friends to be a part of their intimate coastal ceremony.  Since they’re not locals, we didn’t have the opportunity to get acquainted before their wedding.  After the warm welcome I received from both Sarah & Josh and their families, I knew that this was going to be a beautiful wedding for two people very much in love.

I must confess, I was definitely a little sad at the end of the night knowing that my new friends would soon be going back to Maryland.  We parted with a hug and I told them that they couldn’t go back to Maryland because I just liked them waaaaaay too much for them to leave.

Thank you Sarah and Josh for trusting me to capture your beautiful wedding.  I am so happy for you both.  Best wishes and please keep in touch!

XOXO

I love being able to catch those memorable expressions.  These two are a perfect match.  So much in love.    :o)
Thanks to the mystery lady and man who allowed me to boot them out of their beach chairs for the next shot.  You can’t come all the way from Maryland for a beach wedding and not do something like this!Their reception was on the Sundancer Yacht, which a part of Hammock Beach Resort.  It was very fun! Thanks to the captain for letting us grab a quick shot at the steering wheel.  A little cliche’ but still cute and an opportunity I couldn’t pass up since it was my first wedding reception on a boat.    :o)
